–It is always an honor to have our school district represented in leadership roles across the state and nation. Most recently, Denise Blanchard, program director of community partnerships, was inducted as the president of the Texas School Public Relations Association.
“We are certainly proud of Denise and her honor in being elected as president. TSPRA is a leader among state school PR associations, and Denise’s organizational and leadership skills will be well suited to the top position in this state association,” Susan Hoyl, director of community relations, said. “Denise is a great asset to our department and our district, and she will be a great asset to TSPRA.”

TSPRA is a nonprofit, professional organization dedicated to promoting public schools through effective communication. Comprised of more than 800 members and spanning from public information officers to education foundation members, this organization touches the lives of many across the state.

“I love this organization because we stay true to our mission of promoting effective public relations practices, providing professional development and improving communication between Texans and their public schools,” Blanchard said. “TSPRA gives us the ability to share ideas with practitioners across the state and come up with new programs for our communities.”

Blanchard began her career in school public relations in 2000 after teaching home economics in both middle and high school classrooms for 15 years. While in her position, she has championed programs like America’s Promise, Partners in Education, Parent Teacher Association, Ready for the Real World, Kidsfest, iLead, Future Ready, and many more.

“In her position as program director of community partnerships, Denise is an enthusiastic ambassador for our schools out in the community. I know she will extend that same enthusiasm and effort across the state as the new TSPRA president,” Superintendent Rod Schroder, said. “It is a great thing for our district to have quality staff that represents us at the state level.”
