AISD Recognizes Fall 2015 Superintendent Scholars
PDHS Supt Scholars

February 2, 2016 - More than 935 Amarillo ISD high school students will be honored this week as Fall 2015 Superintendent’s Scholars. Dr. Dana West, AISD Superintendent, will lead assemblies at each high school to recognize the accomplishments of these students. “Each student,” she explains, “should feel great pride and joy in knowing the extraordinary effort required to achieve at this level.” As top academic performers, these scholars illustrate the importance of not only attending school, but setting extraordinary goals and achieving them.

AISD high school students earn the distinction of Superintendent Scholar by meeting the following qualifications:

  • Freshmen, sophomores, and juniors must be enrolled in at least five of the courses included in the Superintendent’s Scholars program

  • Seniors must be enrolled in at least four of the courses included in the program

  • Students must earn at least a 95 semester average in regular courses, and at least a 90 semester average in AP and Pre-AP courses

Students who earn the recognition of Superintendent’s Scholar in both the Fall and Spring semesters will be invited to attend a luncheon in their honor at the end of the school year.
