Tascosa's Brandt Applause Employee of the Year

Tascosa's Truetta Brandt Named Applause Employee of the Year
Truetta Brandt

May 26, 2016 -- Tascosa High School Career Planning Clerk, Truetta Brandt’s eight Applause award nominations earned her the title of Applause Employee of the Year for 2016. Brandt was recognized at Amarillo ISD’s annual Service Recognition Banquet, May 2.

The Applause program recognizes AISD employees who go above and beyond their normal job duties to give great customer service--one of the District's core values--to a student, parent, community member, or co-worker. Brandt’s Applause nominations, submitted largely by parents and students, tell the story of how she does just that.

"She really took her time and explained everything step by step when it came to scholarships, SAT, ACT, and financial aid information. She is stellar and above and beyond the call of duty."

"She helped us receive financial aid for college and helped us again as a past student to get through the FAFSA."

"Ms. Brandt helped me and many others, and very patiently, meet scholarship application deadlines. She gave me very important and helpful advice. I really could not ask for better help."

In addition to being recognized at the banquet, Brandt received a plaque and a $250 cash award from the Amarillo Education Foundation.

Last year’s Applause Employee of the Year, Caprock Career Planning Clerk, Tami Cox, was also finalist for the 2016 award, along with Amarillo High School Speech and Debate teacher, Mellessa Denny.

Anyone can nominate an employee for the monthly Applause award online or in person at any AISD campus and at the front desk of the Rod Schroder Education Support.
