Bowie 6th Grade Campus Theatre Program

Why Theatre?  Well, theatre is EVERYWHERE!  Theatre is communicating and listening, entertaining and being entertained, exploration and reflection both in the theatre and on the streets, in the boardroom and in the classroom as well as in your family and in your friendships. Honing theatre skills hones a person for life.  It’s a study of the human experience by getting in touch with your own experience.  Students enrolled in Theatre Arts 100 will attend theatre class for approximately 45 minutes every day that will encompass the following essential knowledge and skills:  Origins of Theatre, Improvisation, Pantomime, Play Production and Criticism and Reflection.  

Bowie Middle School 7th & 8th Grade Campus Theatre Program


Theatre is concerned with the communication of human issues.  Its purpose is to teach students to cope with the complexities of human relationships in modern society, communicate with others in a meaningful way and critically evaluate dramatic performances.  Students should examine theatre as a part of daily life, as a way of enhancing knowledge and skills, and as a means of expression.  All students will benefit from ongoing educational theatre experiences. Students enrolled in Theatre Arts 200 will attend theatre class for approximately 45 minutes every day that will encompass the following essential skills knowledge and skills: Voice, movement (including stage combat), scene writing, play production and criticism andnreflection.

Bowie Players
Bowie Players is the after school theatre program that rehearses from 4 PM to 6 PM on Tuesdays andvThursdays in the Bowie auditorium. The Bowie Players produce 2 productions fully every Fall and Spring. Some past productions include But We Don’t, Alice in Wonderland, and Selfie. Students participate in the Randall High School Festival and in AISD’s Middle School One Act Play Festival. The Bowie Players also go on at least one field trip to a fine arts event in Amarillo per school year.

Jennifer Click
Jennifer Click hails from Houston, Texas and is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.  From there she attended the University of Cincinnati where she received a Master’s of Fine Arts specializing in Stage Management.  Traveling the country as a professional stage manager she worked at the Chautauqua Institute where she stage managed A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Skin of Our Teeth.  She also worked at the Virginia Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Houston Grand Opera, and The San Diego Opera as a stage manager.  Moving to the Amarillo area to pursue her teaching career Mrs. Click started in Amarillo as a Special Ed teacher at Lorenzo De Zavala Middle School where she started an after school Drama Club.  Enjoying her after school theatrical directing so much she decided to take a permanent Theatre Arts teaching position at Bowie Middle School where she is the current Director of Theatre Arts.  Mrs. Click is married to her husband, AISD PC Technician, Dr. Newton Click, and lives happily with her husband, her dog, Keesha and cat, Pinky Lee.
