The Amarillo Speech, Hearing and Language Center (ASHLC) is a nonprofit
organization and one of the leading health related resources. It is located
in the Harrington Regional Medical Center, occupying 24,000 sqaure feet.
The Center's campus includes the Panhandle Council for the Deaf, Preschool
Regional Education Program for the Deaf, and Texas Tech University Regional
Academic Health Sciences Center School of Allied Health. The proximity of
these specialized facilities contributes to the advancement of health science
education, client care and research in the Panhandle of Texas.
The Amarillo Speech, Hearing and Language Center employs audiologists and
speech-language pathologists. These professionals work as individual health
care service providers and as integral members of multi-disciplinary teams
which coordinate total client care and services.

Audiologists and speech-language pathologists are certified by the American
Speech-Language-Hearing Association and licensed by the Texas State Committee
of Examiners of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. The audiologists
are also members of the American Academy of Audiology.
