Workers Compensation Policies & Procedures

Amarillo Independent School District (A.I.S.D.) takes on-the-job injuries very seriously. If an employee is injured at work, they are required to immediately report on-the-job injuries or occupational illnesses to the campus secretary or supervisor in order to complete necessary paperwork.

Workers’ Compensation provides medical treatment for qualified on-the-job injuries or occupational illness and provides wages missed if an injury prevents an employee from working. Many providers in the Amarillo area will not treat Workers’ Compensation cases, and the district’s medical plan will not cover on-the-job injuries.
