Amarillo ISD congratulates all 1,800 high school graduates from the class of 2011!

2011 Graduation Schedule*

May 27, 2011	8:00 p.m.	Palo Duro High School
May 28, 2011	10:30 a.m.	Tascosa High School
May 28, 2011	2:00 p.m.	Amarillo High School
May 28, 2011	5:30 p.m.	Caprock High School

* All graduation ceremonies will be in the Amarillo Civic Center Cal Farley Coliseum.

As part of an ongoing effort to improve the atmosphere and safety at our graduation ceremonies, Amarillo ISD has decided to implement tickets for all four graduation ceremonies, beginning with the Class of 2011. Amarillo High School has issued tickets for several years; this year, all four high schools will be issuing tickets for the ceremonies.

This decision came after input and discussion with parents, high school principals, and representatives from the Amarillo Police Department and the City of Amarillo. The capacity of the Civic Center Coliseum is 4,800 seats, and all four of our high schools are now graduating senior classes that put the coliseum in jeopardy of being over capacity. This has created an environment that takes away from the honor and recognition our graduates deserve.

It is our hope that the new ticket procedure will help make graduation a more positive experience for parents, families and friends, and graduates.
