Mary Stack (Mrs. Tol) Ware, class of 1939

Mrs. Ware was quite active while at AHS, serving on La Airosa Business Staff and as Cheerleader, ROTC Sponsor, and Queen of AHS; belonging to the National Honor Society and Who’s Who of the1939 class; and playing tennis and volleyball.  Mrs. Ware and her husband, Tol, are long-time philanthropic supporters of the Amarillo community, including the Ware Memorial Center, Kids, Inc., and the new Ware Tower at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital.  Mrs. Ware has served on numerous community Boards ranging from the Amarillo Art Center to the Junior League of Amarillo to the Amarillo Garden Center and Stephen F. Austin PTA.  Mrs. Ware has been nominated for the Woman of the Year and recently served as Chairwoman of the 50th Reunion for Amarillo High.  She and her husband have two sons, Richard and Bill, and six grandchildren.
