Understand that as a Student Athletic Trainer, you must work effectively with coaches, athletes, doctors and administrators.  The Student Athletic Trainer must be willing to put in many long hours of hard work, many of which may seem menial, but all of which are very important.  Student Athletic Trainers must also maintain passing grades in all classes.  This is an important position, worthy of respect and we need quality people to keep it that way.  On the second sheet of this form, please write an essay telling why you want to be a Student Athletic Trainer and what you can contribute to our program.

We are excited about our Student Athletic Trainer program and hope that you will be too.  The Student Athletic Trainers work many long, hard hours all year long and we realize that this puts a burden on you as well as your student.  Our program is designed to give the student the best possible education in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training and will require a great deal of work by the student.  We know that you will support your student in this program (even those late nights and long road trips).  Please look over the materials that explain about our program and sign this form so that we will have a record of your approval of your student being a part of our program.  Should you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact us.  You are also always welcome to visit our facilities and encouraged to attend Amarillo High’s games.
