Athletic Training

The mission of the Amarillo High Athletic Training Program is to provide the best possible health care for our athletes. This is done by licensed Athletic Trainers who educate and supervise a staff of Student Athletic Trainers in the prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

A central Athletic Training Room in the Amarillo High Activities Center serves as a base where Student Athletic Trainers are educated and cover all sports. Student Athletic Trainers learn many job skills that prepare the student for life, particularly in the medical field. Valuable contacts and associations are made and there is an increased opportunity for a scholarship position in a college or university. The job of the Student Athletic Trainer requires dedication, hard work and long hours but the rewards are there for those who will work.
