Our Child Development Center

The TeenAge Pregnancy and Parenting (TAPP) Program is a twelve month program offered within Amarillo ISD that provides an all-inclusive service/education program for pregnant and parenting adolescents.   The North Heights Child Development Center provides enrolled adolescent parents’ children with a comprehensive program to meet their individual needs.

Services are offered to children in the belief that success in meeting their needs (cognitive, social, emotional, and physical) provide the basis for positive life experiences; their parents are their first most effective teacher; and that they learn best through a planned, sequential services of activities recognizing that all individuals are unique.

Any school age student who is pregnant and/or parenting is eligible. Support services are designed to prevent pregnant and/or parenting students from dropping out of school and to recover those students whom have already left school.
