Local Operating
Guidelines
Verbal Release of
Records
When a verbal request for student
records information is received from
another school district, AISD employees
should respond as follows:
-
If it is
known with certainty that the person
requesting the information is an
employee of the requesting district who
has a right to the student's records,
the information may be given over the
phone.
-
If there is
uncertainty that the person requesting
the information is an employee of the
requesting district, the AISD employee
should either call back to the requester
with what is known to be a school phone
number before releasing information, or
ask the requester to fax or mail a
request for records on their school
letterhead.
Any time student records information
is released, documentation of the
request, including the requester's name
and school district, the student's name,
information requested, and date of
request must be made. |
