Amarillo ISD offers a Visual Art Program that promotes critical and creative thinking skills, reinforces core curriculum, develops artistic skills, heightens visual awareness, and provides an avenue for imaginative self-expression. Visual art classes begin in Middle School and continue through High School with advanced courses in Drawing, Painting, Computer Graphics and Animation, Ceramics, Jewelry, as well as AP or IB Studio Art. AISD art students participate in area and state competitions including the Texas Art Education Association Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) and the Texas Panhandle Student Art Show hosted by the Amarillo Museum of Art.
