To kick off the Board meeting, a combined show choir from Amarillo, Caprock, Palo Duro and Tascosa high schools sang two songs they had prepared for the Community Prayer Breakfast on Nov. 22.

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) today released the final 2016 state academic accountability ratings, adjusting Amarillo ISD’s North Heights Alternative School rating from Improvement Required to Met Alternative Standard.

A powerful new app for parents is now available from Amarillo ISD and Chartwells, the district’s dining services partner. The app gives parents and students the opportunity to explore school menus, see photos of the actual menu items, and investigate nutritional information all from their smart phone or computer. 
Three Amarillo ISD schools have earned a spot on the state’s Title I reward school list of 300 high-performing or high-progress campuses. 
Knowledge is power and a new student engagement campaign from the collective impact partnership No Limits No Excuses (NLNE) aims to put knowledge and power right in the hands of students, helping them plot their path to success beyond high school.
