Windsor Student Named National Math Star

September 15, 2025 – John Cantu, a fourth grade student at Windsor Elementary was selected to be in the 2025 National Math Star cohort. The National Math Stars program aims to identify and nurture the mathematical talent of exceptional students who may otherwise face barriers to advanced learning. Each year, only a select group of students is invited to join the cohort. Each student selected receives support valued at over $100,000 over the next 10 years.
John will receive:
- Long-term advanced academic support from 3rd grade through high school at no cost to the family
- Weekly one-on-one math mentoring
- Advanced math learning opportunities
- STEM enrichment materials and opportunities
- Invitations to math competitions and summer camps
Only 102 third and fourth grade students from seven states including Texas, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin were selected for the Math Stars cohort.
