September 17, 2025 – Constitution Day commemorates the formation and signing of the US Constitution on September 17, 1787. From elementary to high school, schools across AISD commemorated the event with various activities.

Some elementary schools learned a patriotic song and gathered at the flag pole. Other elementary schools had guest readers from Daughters of the American Revolution.

Caprock High School students celebrated by creating projects themed around the Constitution and Bill of Rights. At Amarillo and Tascosa high schools, debate team members and volunteers from the League of Women Voters held voter registration drives for senior students and walked them through a voting booth simulation. Amarillo High’s New Sound singers also sang the national anthem at the city’s Constitution Day ceremony.
