November 25, 2025 - It’s a Thanksgiving week tradition in Amarillo. The Yellow City Classic Basketball Tournament is back with 16 teams heating up the hardwood at all four AISD high school gyms. Over the years, the tournament has brought millions of tourism dollars to Amarillo. Additionally, spectators can enjoy some great basketball action, featuring state-ranked teams from Palo Duro and Amarillo High. The tournament continues through Wednesday, with games at every gym. The Championship and Consolation games happen Wednesday at noon.
