February 18, 2026 – The UIL state swimming and diving meet is set for April 20-21 at the University of Texas' Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin and several AISD swimmers have earned their places in the pool. Amarillo High swimmers Alec Purdy and James Drozell will each compete in individual events, Purdy in the 100 Fly and 100 Back, and Drozell in the 50 Free and 100 Free, while Amaka Nwokedi, Jude Drozell, James Drozell and Purdy will compete in the 200 Free Relay Team event and a team of Drozell, Drozell, Purdy and Peyton Lovett will compete in the 200 Medley.
