May 12, 2026 – Tascosa debate students Ryan Foster and Hudson Turman are State Champions after a win at the Texas Forensic Association State Meet. This is the first time since the 1980’s that any school in our region has produced a state champion at this meet.

Hudson and Ryan, along with Tascosa debate coach Ryan Lovell, captured the win in the category Duet Acting, a highly competitive event that requires a memorized 10-minute performance centered on technique, interpretation, and teamwork from a single published source. They also tied for 5th overall individual sweepstakes out of more than 1,500 students competing across 14 events.
