Amarillo ISD Recognized as a CTE District of Distinction

November 5, 2025 – Amarillo ISD is proud to announce its selection as a CTE District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT). Honored Districts serve as models of excellence, showcasing best practices and driving progress in CTE statewide.
“The innovation and focused work that happens in our CTE programs is inspiring,” said Dr. Deidre Parish, AISD Superintendent. “We are so proud of our students, our CTE staff, and the Amarillo parents and community who support our CTE programs that prepare students for life and success beyond high school.”
Amarillo ISD’s CTE programs are built on a foundation of innovation, workforce alignment, and a deep commitment to student success. The establishment of AmTech Career Academy has fundamentally restructured the district’s approach by serving as a centralized CTE hub in which students from Amarillo, Caprock, Palo Duro, and Tascosa High Schools have equitable access to CTE training in high-demand, high-wage career Pathways.
With strong programs beginning at both the middle and high schools, and with the addition of AmTech, it has helped align CTE across the district, allowing the focus to be on strengthening career opportunities through local business and industry collaborations. This shift has enabled AISD to increase student internships, college credit, and industry certifications.
