2020-2021 UIL Calendar and Updated COVID-19 Risk Mitigation Guidelines

UIL Calendar graphicUIL has presented modifications to the 2020-2021 UIL calendar and updated COVID-19 risk mitigation guidelines, set to take effect August 1, 2020. Please visit our COVID-Affected UIL Calendar for AISD Sports page for the calendar and more information.

The modifications to the 2020-2021 calendar differ by activity and conference and can be found on the UIL website (Opens in new window). These adjustments reflect the public health situation at this time and the varying numbers of COVID-19 cases across different geographic areas of the state. This plan provides a delay for schools in highly-populated metro areas, primarily conferences 5A-6A, given the challenges with COVID-19 those communities are facing, while providing schools in other areas, primarily 1A-4A, an opportunity to start seasons on schedule.

Athletics Schedules 2020-2021

Rank One Sport logoOur athletics schedules are now hosted with Rank One Sport. Schedules are added by members of our coaching staff as each sport’s season is about to begin. We will make sure the schedules are public on this link at least two weeks (preferably 1 month) prior to the start time of a game.

You can also download the Rank One Sport app for Apple or Android devices. When visiting AISD’s Rank One Sport schedules page, at the bottom you will see links for navigating to the correct app platform.

Clear Bag Policy at Dick Bivins Stadium

Clear Bag Policy thumbnailA clear bag policy is in effect for Dick Bivins Stadium (PDF opens in new window) during the 2020-2021 athletic year. Amarillo ISD continually reviews its safety and security policies across the District looking for ways to improve. This proactive measure will enhance safety inside and outside the stadium, and speed the security screening process for all fans.

The clear bag policy is only in effect at Dick Bivins Stadium; however, fans should be aware of specific policies regarding prohibited items at ALL Amarillo ISD athletic facilities. Lastly, please help us in communicating this new policy with stakeholders and fans.
