Career & Technical Education (CTE)

Career & Technical Education (CTE) provides students with the academic and technical skills, knowledge and training necessary to succeed in future careers and to become lifelong learners. The Amarillo ISD CTE programs prepare students for high-skill, high-wage, and high-demand careers through cultivating personal passion and active learning. Through a sequence of course offerings within an occupational pathway, called Programs of Study, students have opportunities to cultivate skills that will lead to industry-based certifications and preparation for the next level of training beyond high school. In AISD, there are over 8,000 students currently enrolled in one or more CTE courses in AISD.
