Amarillo ISD Brings Home Fourth Regional Emmy

December 5, 2023 – Amarillo ISD’s communications efforts earned a fourth regional Emmy award at the 21st Annual Lone Star Emmy Awards on Saturday, November 12 in Houston.

The District’s “Stories” video series was awarded the Emmy for Outstanding Human Interest content. AISD also received a Lone Star Emmy nomination for its “MORE” video.

Now in its third season, the dramatic, black-and-white “Stories” series celebrates the reflections of the students, staff, volunteers and alumni who make AISD extraordinary. The “Stories” series is directed by AISD’s Creative Visual Communications Coordinator Blake Cartrite and edited by AISD’s Creative Visual Communications Specialist Kyler Kuykendall.

As part of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Lone Star Emmy is the standard bearer for excellence in the Texas television broadcasting industry.

This is the second Lone Star Emmy win for the Stories series and the fourth Emmy overall for AISD. Previously, the original, educational children's television program "The Secret Classroom" earned a Lone Star Emmy, two Telly Awards, a Communicator Award in 2020, and an Emmy in 2021.
