June 10, 2020 – A number of upcoming opportunities will offer families computer and internet access to complete the 2020 Census questionnaire.
The 2020 Census Neighborhood Project takes place throughout the month of June and is sponsored by the North Heights Advisory Association, the San Jacinto Neighborhood Association and the Barrio Neighborhood Planning Committee. The Amarillo Independent School District will provide access to school computer labs at the following sites from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Internet access to complete the Census via cellphone will also be available at Shi Lee’s Barbeque & Soul Food Café from 12 noon to 3 p.m.:
Monday, June 15 – Carver Academy, Hamlet, San Jacinto, and Glenwood Elementary Schools & Shi Lee’s Barbeque & Soul Food Cafe
Wednesday, June 17 – Carver Academy, Hamlet, Wills, and Humphrey’s Highland Elementary Schools & Shi Lee’s Barbeque & Soul Food Cafe
Friday, June 19 – Carver Academy, Hamlet, Avondale, and Sanborn Elementary Schools & Shi Lee’s Barbeque & Soul Food Cafe
Monday, June 22 – Carver Academy, Hamlet, San Jacinto, and Glenwood Elementary Schools & Shi Lee’s Barbeque & Soul Food Cafe

Those attending should wear a mask, enter the front school office and practice social distancing. Volunteers will be available to answer questions about the 2020 Census. Those who complete the 2020 Census online questionnaire will be entered in a drawing for one of three gift baskets of local food gift cards and gift items, two bottles of liquid hand sanitizer and cloth masks, all provided by sponsors.
