Meals Provided for Students Over Spring Break

March 11, 2021 – Amarillo ISD will provide free breakfast and lunch for students the week of spring break, March 15-19, 2021.

On Monday, March 15, and Tuesday, March 16, students can pick up breakfast and lunch for that day. On Wednesday, March 17, meals for three days will be distributed and students can pick up breakfast and lunch to cover Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Meals will be distributed each of the three days from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at any of these campus locations, regardless of which school a student attends:

Elementary Schools

  • Eastridge, 1314 Evergreen St.
  • Emerson, 600 N Cleveland St.
  • Humphrey’s Highland, 3901 SE 15th Ave.
  • Ridgecrest, 5306 SW 37th Ave.
  • Rogers, 920 N Mirror St.
  • San Jacinto, 3400 W 4th Ave.
  • South Lawn, 4719 Bowie St.
  • Wills, 3500 SW 11th Ave.

Middle School:

  • Austin, 1808 Wimberly Rd.

Providing free breakfast and lunch meals to community families and students is crucial, said AISD Child Nutrition Director Matt Buck.

“It is extremely important that we, as a District and community, support each other," said Buck. “Due to the Seamless Summer Option that we are currently feeding under this school year, and approval from Texas Department of Agriculture, we have the ability to provide additional meal resources to help families after a challenging year.”

The meals will be served via a drive-through “grab and go” system, and are free to students 18 and younger. In observance of social distancing guidelines, families should remain in their vehicle.

Grab and go meals will generally be the same meals as those typically served in the cafeteria, though some items may be different to maintain quality and food safety.
