Bob Ashworth Award for Outstanding Service Nominees

April 17, 2014 – The recipient of the Bob Ashworth Award for Outstanding Service will be announced at the School Board meeting Monday, April 21 at 6 p.m. In recognition of his dedicated service to the district, the Bob Ashworth Award for Outstanding Service was established to honor the former superintendent who served Amarillo ISD from 1958 to 1978.

“It is a high honor to be nominated for the Bob Ashworth service award,” Superintendent Rod Schroder said. “In whatever position they are in, these employees exemplify what we find in staff throughout the district – a true dedication and commitment to the work of preparing our students for success after they graduate. Many of these nominees are long-time employees who have touched the lives of countless students throughout their career, and I want to congratulate them and thank them for their service.”

Each year a committee of at least three people is appointed by the superintendent to solicit nominations for this award. Amarillo ISD employees are eligible for the award if they have been employed by the district for more than five years and have not received the award before. The recipient will receive a cash award of $500, and their portrait will be hung in the Education Support Center Board Room foyer.
