Amarillo ISD Hosts EdTechTeam Summit

June 12, 2019—Amarillo I.S.D. will host a tech summit for teachers to experience the latest technology used to inspire and challenge students. On Tuesday, June 18 and Wednesday, June 19, educators from across the Panhandle will attend the EdTechTeam Texas Panhandle Summit at Caprock High School.

During this two-day event, educators will hear from keynote speakers and learn from a mix of 60 and 90-minute lessons about some of the best tools and strategies for students. Teachers will also have the opportunity to learn and be creative while playing around with some of the industry’s best tech in the EdTech Playground.

Other topics of discussion include Google for Education apps, creating with Chromebooks, Microsoft Office 365, Minecraft, blended and personalized learning and more.

Many presenters at the summit this year are A.I.S.D. teachers and Learning, Design and Technology (L.D.T.) Coaches, according to L.D.T. Coordinator Donna Hill.

“Being the largest school district in the Panhandle, we can set the bar for innovation in digital education,” said Hill. “Our teachers and those attending from around the Panhandle will gain information about the latest trends in digital learning and integration in the curriculum.”

There is also an opportunity for teachers to share what they know with the class in a demo slam—a fun and fast session where presenters have three minutes to demonstrate a feature from the Google suite.

EdTechTeam Summits are held all over the United States and the world, including Phoenix, Arizona, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Johannesburg, South Africa and Brooks, Alberta, Canada.
