Safari graphicGo on a Safari!
Parents and kids (kids who will be 3, 4, or 5 by September 1, 2024) are invited to attend a Safari event where you can roam around the school on a scavenger hunt. Interact with our “tour guides” (also known as our school’s teachers) who will answer your questions and help you with enrolling your student.

Safari is an event available to families on the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 5:30 p.m.

Take a trip with your student to an AISD Safari event! Safari is a fun way to see the school your student will be attending, and as a parent you’ll be able to ask questions and get assistance with enrollment.

Learn more about Safari in the FAQ section below!

Safari Event Questions & Answers

  • Is your student new to AISD?

Families who are new to AISD can enroll their child anytime after April 1st using our online registration form. We suggest you follow the path below, online, or contact an AISD elementary school for assistance.

    PRE-KINDERGARTEN: STEPS TO FOLLOW
We have a click-through guide you need to explore before submitting an online registration form for your Pre-K student.

Please begin at the Pre-K Information web page and follow the steps outlined on that web page.

    KINDERGARTEN: STEPS TO FOLLOW
If enrolling a student into an AISD Kindergarten program, be sure to first visit our Kindergarten Information web page to begin that process.

  • It is best to attend the Safari event of the school that you would like to enroll your student with.

If you’re wanting your student to attend an AISD school outside of your student’s AISD attendance zone, you will likely want to attend the Safari event at the preferred campus and not the home campus that’s located within your attendance zone. There is a transfer process with guidelines (and a “priority” deadline of May 1) for transferring students from a home campus to another campus. Discuss this with your preferred campus’s staff at the Safari event or contact your preferred campus by phone or email.

Attending a school’s Safari event is a GREAT way to learn more about how to register your student for school with AISD and how to transfer your student from one campus to another campus.

If you cannot attend a Safari event, contact the school you would like your student to attend and ask them about their programs and the transfer process to their school.
