AISD Updates

NEW (As of April 30,2021): Options for Reductions in Quarantine Time.

If an AISD student or staff member is quarantined due to an exposure, and they are requesting the possibility to return early from the 14-day quarantine, please use the form below:

Family member(s) of quarantined student: For a student to return early from a quarantine, the above form must be completed and signed by a medical professional. Once this form is completed and returned to the school, the school will make a copy to keep for their records, and then a scanned copy will be sent to the Amarillo Public Health Department.

Staff Members: If a staff member wishes to return early, please direct them to the appropriate Human Resources director/coordinator.

Students and Staff: A student or staff member may not end quarantine and return to school early without this form completed by a medical professional.

AISD Current Status: On July 27, 2020, the AISD Board of Trustees voted to delay the start of instruction until Tuesday, September 1. The delay is not a direct response to the COVID-19 virus, but rather to the new challenges teachers and campus staff will face as a result of COVID-19. The postponed start helps to ensure adequate time for schools to prepare, allowing for a stronger, safer start for our students and staff. The District is working to ensure a safe and productive learning environment for all. View current information on our Return to School page(s).

City of Amarillo Current Status: The City of Amarillo is currently operating on Level  ORANGE . Visit https://www.amalerts.com/ (Opens in new window) to learn more.
